Learn Quran Tajweed
What Is Tajweed?
- The Arabic word “Tajweed” or “Tajwid” means to make better or to improve.
- In terms of Quran reading & recitation, it is a very common term.
- Tajweed is actually application of a set of linguistic and pronunciation rules used in reciting the Quran in the right way, as same as the prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was reciting.
Does Accurate Pronunciation Matter?
The letters of Arabic all have a distinct method of pronunciation, and learning Tajweed enables a Muslim to know the difference between the correct and faulty pronunciation of Arabic words.
Mispronunciation can result in different meanings to what the original text was trying to convey. Quran with Tajweed can be easily distinguished from recitation without Tajweed, which may carry a different definition of Allah’s words.

Recitation Of Our Beloved Prophet (PBUH)
The significance of Tajweed can be seen in the following Ahadith:
Qatadah said: I asked Anas about the recitation of the Qur’an by the Prophet (PBUH) He said: He used to express all the long accents clearly.
(Sunan Abi Dawud, Chapter: How It Is Recommended to Recite (The Qur’an) With Tartil)
Al-Bara said:
I heard the Prophet (PBUH) reciting wa t-teeni wa z-zaitun” in the `Isha’ prayer, and I never heard a sweeter voice or a better way of recitation than that of the Prophet (PBUH). Sahih al-Bukhari: Call to Prayers (Adhaan), Chapter: Recitation in the ‘Isha prayer
Why Is It Necessary To Learn Quran With Tajweed?
The answer to this often-asked question lies in the fact that Allah almighty revealed the holy Quran in Arabic. Therefore, the recitation must match the way that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his companions (well-pleased Allah is with them) recited it
